I started Week 2 of "official" training with a long swim this morning at the JCC. I was trying to think back... this might be the longest swim I've ever done. I could be wrong, but either way it was a tough one! I did 2400m total (warm up: 6x100, main: 3x500, cool down: 2x150). The main set was supposed to be 4x500, but I skipped the last 500 due to time constraints. Since I've never swam these sorts of distances before I didn't have a good concept of how long the workout would take. As it was, I was in the pool for and hour. The extra 500 wouldn't have added too much time, but I had an early meeting at work and had to call it quits. I was a bit disappointed, but overall I'm still pleased with myself for getting it done.
Tonight Jeremy and I are going on a Valentine's Day run. It's not that often that our training schedules coordinate, but as luck would have it we're both supposed to do 45 minutes today. So, it's a date!
Running by headlamp... uber romantic!
